Narutodle — The Daily Naruto Character Guessing Game

Play Today's Narutodle
Narutodle is the daily Naruto character guessing game. Every UTC midnight the game locks onto one ninja from a pool of 210 Shippūden-era characters, and the puzzle is the same for every player in the world. Type a name, read the nine-column grid, refine your next guess.
If you landed here searching for naruto wordle, a daily anime puzzle, or just a fun way to test how well you remember the series, this is that game. No account, no install, no paywall. The board above is live — start guessing today's Narutodle and the results save to your browser automatically.
Every player — Tokyo, Lima, Berlin, Lagos — is working on the same character right now. That is the point: you and your friends can compare notes on the exact same ninja without coordinating time zones. Watch the countdown next to the board to see when the next Narutodle drops. At 00:00 UTC the puzzle rotates, the guess log clears, and your streak bumps if you solved the previous day.
Three Ways to Play Narutodle
Narutodle runs three modes side by side. Classic is the daily flagship. Silhouette is a sharper visual challenge. Unlimited is a practice mode with no reset. All three share the same roster of 210 characters.
Classic
The 9-Attribute Grid
Narutodle Classic shows a blank grid with nine columns — gender, clan, village, ninja rank, jutsu types, nature releases, kekkei genkai, special attributes, debut arc. Type a character, the row fills in, and each cell colors green, yellow, or red with a matching shape so you know which attributes hit. Ordered columns add an up or down arrow pointing at the answer. Most players solve the daily Classic in four to seven guesses.

Progressive Reveal
Narutodle Silhouette starts with a darkened portrait of the day's character. You have ten guesses total, and a tenth miss ends the round automatically. Each wrong answer brightens the image a little more — brightness, then edges, then colour, until the portrait is fully visible. Silhouette rewards pattern recognition: hairstyles, scars, headband placement, posture. A strong player can lock in on a distinct character in three to four guesses.
Play Silhouette →PracticeUnlimited
Endless Practice
Narutodle Unlimited has no daily reset and no lifetime streak. Every round seeds a new random character from the same 210-deep pool. A lightweight session streak tracks consecutive wins within the tab and resets on reload. Use it to warm up before Classic, quiz a roommate during lunch, or drill yourself on the obscure half of the cast. The puzzle will not repeat back-to-back, so you will not face the same ninja twice in a row.
Play Unlimited →How to Play Narutodle (Step-by-Step)
Here is a full Narutodle walkthrough, from first guess to reveal. It is written for Classic. The other two modes follow the same logic with one small adjustment each.
Search for a character. Type any name into the input — partial matches and common aliases (Kakashi-sensei, Gaara of the Desert, the Fourth) resolve to the canonical character. A portrait-based dropdown shows up to eight matches so you can confirm before pressing enter.
Read the row. Once you submit, each of the nine columns flips and colors itself. Green ✓ means an exact match. Yellow ≈ means partial overlap on a multi-value column, like one shared jutsu type. Red ✗ means no overlap at all. Ordered columns add ↑ or ↓ so you can tell whether the answer debuts earlier or later than your guess.
Narrow the pool. A single well-chosen guess — say, an active Konoha jōnin with a named clan — knocks out hundreds of candidates at once because it carries a clan, a village, a rank, and usually multiple natures. Two guesses is often enough to triangulate clan and village together.
Unlock progressive hints if you stall. After five wrong guesses Narutodle reveals Vital Status. After eight, a Nature Type icon. After twelve, the Village badge. After twenty, you can reveal the answer with one tap — the quick path to today's narutodle answer when you just want it done.
Share. When you solve, Narutodle generates a Wordle-style emoji grid of your guess pattern, with no character spoilers, and drops it to clipboard or Web Share in one click.
Reading the Narutodle Color & Symbol Grid
Color alone is not enough. Red and green read identically to the roughly three hundred million people worldwide with red-green color vision deficiency, so every Narutodle cell carries both a color and a distinct shape. Green cells fade in a leaf mark. Yellow cells show a half-seal arc. Red cells overlap a cross. Ordered columns render an upward or downward caret. The outcome: a player who cannot tell red from green can still play Narutodle at full fluency, from the first guess to the final share.
Quick reference every player memorizes after a round or two:
Leaf
Full match
Half-seal
Partial overlap
Cross
No overlap
Up caret
Answer is higher / later
Down caret
Answer is lower / earlier
Hover or tap any cell and the shape expands into a tooltip showing which value the answer and your guess each carry. Symbols are baked into the page — they survive any ad blocker, screen reader, or reduced-motion setting.

What Makes Narutodle Unique
Here is what we actually did when building Narutodle — the deliberate choices, in plain language.
A deeper roster
The answer pool is 210 Shippūden-era characters and still growing. Every character has a dedicated profile page with bio, clan, signature jutsu, and debut arc, cross-linked back to every day that character was the Narutodle answer.
Nine columns, not eight
Clan and Ninja Rank stay as separate, explicit columns. A large part of the skill ceiling comes from narrowing clan-specific characters fast, and you lose that surgical cut if you fold rank into “other.”
Color plus shape on every cell
Day-one WCAG AA dual encoding. Nobody has to flip on an accessibility toggle.
No login, no profiles
Your streak and guesses save locally in the browser. We do not know who you are, and we do not want to.
Ads off during active play
While the board is live on your screen, no banner or interstitial runs. Ads live in the margins and in the long-form content beneath the game.
Open character data
Every portrait is credited to Narutopedia under CC-BY-SA 3.0, with takedown information one page away.
That is the shape of Narutodle.
Narutodle Strategy — Smart First Guesses
Good Narutodle players do not open with a hunch. They open with a probe: one guess that splits the remaining roster into sharp halves.
Pick a high-coverage character. You want someone who touches at least four of the nine columns distinctively. An active Konoha jōnin with a named clan, multiple nature types, and a mid-series debut arc is ideal — one row returns clan, village, rank, two natures, and an arc position in a single play. Characters like
Kakashi Hatake or
Itachi Uchiha serve the probe role well.
Read the arrows, not just the colors. The Debut Arc column is the strongest narrowing signal in Narutodle. An up arrow eliminates every pre-Land-of-Waves character; a down arrow eliminates every post-Shinobi-War debut. That one signal alone cuts the pool by half.
Pivot after each row. If your first guess returns a green Village cell and a yellow Jutsu Types cell, the second guess should share the village but change every other column. The goal is to turn each cell signal into an actionable next move, not to stay loyal to a favorite character.
Use progressive hints as insurance, not strategy. The 5 / 8 / 12 thresholds exist so you do not crash, not so you can coast. Seasoned Narutodle players rarely see the hint cards fire.
